An interesting topic Ambassador Zermeño covered, were the different treaties Mexico was active in. From the TLCAN (NAFTA) with the U.S. and Canada to the EU-Mexico free trade agreement, Mexico has trade negotiations with over 44 countries through 12 different treaties. Mexican Exports have nearly doubled since 2000, with industries such as Petroleum/Petrochemical, Automotive and Aerospatiale growing tremendously in the recent decade. As for Mexico´s direct foreign investment, from the period of 1994-2006 Spain represents 8.7% of the total

We also would like to extend our appreciation to Professor Gonzalo Garland, who actively participated as moderator during the conference and made an array of interesting comments to the Ambassador while he presented Mexico's economical results.
