On May 21, the IE community enjoyed the diversity of its students during this year's Global Village which was already the 4th edition of its kind.

Hosted by IE´s Net Impact Club, the student social responsibility club, the event celebrates the cultural understanding and diversity of the about 80 nationalities that are enrolled at the IE Business School.

Around 700 people enjoyed food, drinks, dancing, singing and other traditions from countries all over the world, all prepared (or performed!) by students across all IE programs. There were more than 30 tables representing more than 37 countries including: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Great Britain, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Uruguay, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Lebanon, Mexico, South Africa, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Congo, Kenya, Peru, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Ukraine, USA and Venezuela. All tables showed enormous creativity in presenting their countries ranging from Mini-Sushi games, live Paella cooking and Mehendi to a big Colombian Bus outside of Serrano 99.

One of the big highlights of the event was the performance on the stage, like traditional dancing from Spain, India, Vietnam and Perú; singing from China, acting from Japan and the closing performance of the great Brazilian Capoeira. Even the IE Music Club Band presented the best of their music during a one hour rock concert surprising the guests with a cover version from the White Stripes exclusively for IE: I-N-S-T-I-T-U-T-O DE  E-M-P-R-E-S-A!

On top of an incredibly special event, €3500 was raised to support social projects in the Greater Madrid Community. In addition, local Spanish TV - TeleMadrid - covered the successful event and thus provided tremendous exposure for IE.

All IE people enjoyed a lot this special afternoon, sharing their culture and tasting the flavors of the world!!  Everyone left with happy feelings and a better understanding of the people they are studying with. The next event is awaited with great impatience!158 (36).jpg
