IE Rugby 2008.jpg
The IE Rugby Team has just returned from a successful tour to Barcelona. The tournament is called the Iberian Business Schools Rugby challenge Cup. Despite a loss to ESADE, the eventual winners of the tournament 4-5, IE comfortably beat off rivals IESE 5-1. The ESADE game was the more physical encounter, with great commitment to tackling on show. The IESE game was more free flowing with some great tries scored by forwards and backs. In an exciting tournament, played with verve and total commitment the IE team conducted themselves with dignity on and off the field. Finally the tournament was celebrated in style at a Chinese Karaoke restaurant where the squad serenaded many diners in rare fashion.

The IE Rugby Club is open to all, to non-players and players who are enrolled on any IE course or on exchange at IE. The club aims to play several fixtures a year, and be a social as well as playing functional club. Girls are also welcome, although for the tournament only touch rugby was available. The tournament was the result of 18 IE students coming together training each weekend for several months and an extensive fund raising campaign, assisted by student office; Maria, Mireya and Margarita.
